P.R.E.P. Optional Team

 

WHAT IS IT?

PREP is an abbreviation for Presentation, Rhythm, Execution and Poise.  Gymnasts will compete as an Intermediate or Advanced depending on their skill level.

 · An alternative to the USA Gymnastics competitive level 1-10 JO program.

· Compete in USAG sanctioned meets with a Prep-Op session.

· Develop routines (UB,BB,FX) for each level.

· Modify routines as skills are achieved.

· Uses JO routines as guidelines.but with different requirements.

 

WHO IS IT FOR?

 · Girls ages 8 & up.

· Gymnasts who have mastered a minimum of a roundoff back handspring.

· Any previous team level gymnast interested in a less competitive schedule.

· Young teens and tweens who desire the challenge of optional routines and competition.

· Those wanting a limited time commitment but still want to be part of a gymnastics team.

WHY?

 · Provide a means and a purpose for continued gymnastics participation, with less stress but still in a team environment with team coaches.

BENEFITS

 · A great way for girls to continue in the sport.

· Participants are able to experience optional competition without the huge commitment necessary for the JO program.

· Fosters team work.

· Incentive to improve.

· Registered USAG Prep-Op membership.

· Participation in USAG Sanctioned meets.

 · Tentative Workout schedule: Mon/Wed/Thur, 5:30-8:00 p.m.

Our Tumbling & Trampoline (TNT) program is up and going, now offering classes for ages 4 to 17! Students who meet minimum skill level requirements will have the option of competing in a few TNT competitions in the spring! Click here for more TNT info!

Annual Insurance Fee - The annual insurance fee is due September 1st for all students. The annual fee will be charged to your credit card on file if it has not been paid by the due date. Please make sure to stop by and fill out a new 2010-2011 release form. Thank you!

Rising Star Alum Kyle Brady earns All American Title on Rings & Parallel Bars at the 2009 NCAA Championships - Kyle Brady is a 1st year law student at Berkeley and just finished his last season competing for the Cal Gymnastics Team. Kyle scored a 15.075 on the Parallel Bars putting him in 2nd Place. He missed the 1st place position by only 1 tenth! Kyle also placed 6th on the Still Rings with a score of 15.125. Kyle's great performances on the Parallel Bars and Still Rings earned him the All American Title. Congratulations Kyle!
